In the fall of 2002, Tomoo joined Stanford University as an athletic trainer/graduate assistant coordinator. With more than a decade of clinical experience on “The Farm”, educational ties to neighboring Santa Clara University, Tomoo remains one of the longest tenured athletic trainers on staff . While currently providing direct medical care to the Men’s Basketball and Golf programs,  Tomoo ensures the all apects of health care are provided at the highest level. He has also provided leadership and direction of the Stanford Sports Medicine Graduate Assistantship since chairing the program and its selection committee in 2007.

Tomoo was appointed to Associate Athletic Trainer for Graduate Education in 2008, where he conitnues to provide leadership and critical contributions to graduate level education, clinical development of its students, as well as overall direction of the the program.

Prior to joining the Sports Medicine family at Stanford, Tomoo began his healthcare career as a student at Vincenns University with an Associate Degree in Pre-Atheltic Training. He later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Bridgewater State University in 1998. In that same year, his educational journey brought him to the Bay Area where he accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Menlo College, while receiving a Masters Degree in Athletic Training and Sport Management from San Jose State University. Tomoo quickly transitioned into a Intern Athletic Trainer at Santa Clara University where he provided direct medical oversight of the 2001 National Championship Women’s Soccer program.

With his continued work ethic, clinical education commitment, and quest for new knowledge, Tomoo has accepted speaking invitations to a host of international medical symposias and conferences while lecturing on a wide variety of clinical topics including injury prevention, clinical injury management and functional rehabilitation.

Tomoo has been very active in his professional development with certifications in numerous manual therapy techniques including Mulligan Manual Therapy, The Functional Movement Screen, The Select Functional Movement Assessment, Kinesiotaping USA, as well as the Janda Approach. He currently holds certification in Pedothics education from the International School of Pedothics. Tomoo is a Titelist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Level 1 Golf Professional.
