
In the fall of 2007, Kevin was appointed Assistant Athletic Trainer, where he immediately began fundamentally assisting in the “renaissance” of Stanford Sports Medicine. Subsequent to his arrival, he has been instrumental in the redevelopment of much of the daily operations, human resources, and comprehensive medical provisions of Cardinal student-athletes. During this time Kevin spearheaded the development, oversight, and implementation of electronic medical record keeping, as well as the organizations revolutionary approach to pre-participation medical history data collection.
Currently, Kevin provides daily medical care of the Men's Volleyball program while overseeing the clinical development a Graduate Assistant as well as the Athletic Training Fellows.
After transitioning to Associate Athletic Trainer in 2009, Kevin continues to assume direct leadership roles in all aspects of the program including operations, staff oversight, information technology, and education. While working with other diciplines within the organization, Kevin is involved in ongoing research projects with athletic trainers, team physicians, biomechanists, and physical therapists. While offering vital assistance in the coordination of medical services and overal direction of the organization, Kevin shares a progressive philosophy and commitment to excellence that has positively contributed to the prevalent and continued rise of Stanford Sports Medicine to among the nation’s elite.
Prior to arriving on The Farm, Kevin spent four years at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA where he provided vital support in the development of the universities first comprehensive Sports Medicine program while serving as the secondary insurance coordinator as well as liason to Campus Health Services and the Strength and Conditioning Staff.

Following his certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association in 2001, Kevin continues to hold his research interests in the highest regard, with specific concern in the clinical application of diagnostic ultrasound, biomechanical adaptation and functional taping, as well the assessment and management of risk associated with pre-participation examinations. Kevin embraces clinical enthusiasm around improving his manual therapy skills as well as advancing the clinical management of injury and illness.
He preserves a certification in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the Select Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Kevin is also an Certified Kinesiotaping Practioner through Kinesiotaping Association USA, and is an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) within the Undergraduate Athletic Training program at San Jose State University.
Kevin completed his Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Athletic Training from Point Loma Nazarene University. After retiring from a professional baseball in 2001, Kevin received a Master’s of Arts Degree in Athletic Training from San Jose State University.
