
Steve joined the Sports Medicine staff in January of 2007 where he provided direct medical care to the Track and Field program. That same fall, Steve assumed the role of Head Football Athletic Trainer where he currently provides comprehensive medical oversight. With his passion for his work and commitment to excellence, Steve was named 2008 Stanford Football’s Man of the Year for his dedicated service to the football program. Administratively, Steve oversees procedure development within the Dental Injury Program.
Prior to coming to “The Farm”, Steve served on the athletic training staff of the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League for 12 seasons. After working as an assistant athletic trainer for the SaberCats during the 1995 and ’96 campaigns, Steve was appointed Head Athletic Trainer where he served in that capacity for the next 10 seasons.

Steve has also served on athletic training staffs for numerous local, national, and international events, including the San Jose Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon, USA MotoGP Red Bull Championships, East-West Shrine Game, Pacific Coast Figure Skating Championships, Monday Night Raw, Central Pacific Figure Skating Championships, Bruce Jenner Track and Field classic and the USA Track and Field National Junior Championships. In 1996, Steve had the unique opportunity to serve as an athletic trainer covering Beach Volleyball during the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Gerogia.
Steve is a certified athletic trainer and a licensed physical therapy assistant. In 1994, Steve received his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training / Exercise Science from Ithaca College. He later attended classes at San Jose State University in pursuit of a master’s degree in kinesiology.
Steve is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) with Kinesio USA. He is a member of Ithaca College alumni Advisory Board and is an approved clinical instructor with the Undergraduate Athletic Training Program at San Jose State.
