Goalie Kate Baldoni was named tournament MVP as Stanford won its second straight NCAA title Sunday

STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Kate Baldoni (Corona del Mar, Calif. / Newport Beach HS) of the NCAA Champion Stanford women's water polo team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 7-13.

Baldoni made a total of 29 saves and allowed just nine goals over her time in the cage as Stanford went 3-0 at the National Collegiate Championship in San Diego to capture it's second straight NCAA title and third overall.

The Cardinal goalie was named tournament MVP as well as to the All-Tournament First Team after making a season-high 15 saves in Stanford's 6-4 championship game victory over USC.

Stanford finished the season 26-2.

This is the first Stanford/Muscle Milk honor of Baldoni's career, and the second of the season for Stanford women's water polo.
