Friday at 4:30 PM Eastern, Stanford will take on Michigan in their first game of the 2005 NCAA Championships, held in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The No. 3 Cardinal (20-6) hold a 7-0 all-time record over the No. 6 Michigan Wolverines (28-12).

Michigan is the only CWPA school to make two appearances at the NCAA Championships, and they currently boast a nine-game winning streak. Goalie Betsey Armstrong has a season total of 280 saves for Michigan, while Shana Welch leads the team in goals with 93. Friday night, Michigan will also have the home-pool advantage, playing in their own Canham Natatorium.

The Cardinal are led by Katie Hansen offensively, and will depend upon Nancy El-Sakkary, Hannah Luber, Laurel Champion, and goalie Meridith McColl defensively.
