STANFORD, Calif. - Freshman driver Kaley Dodson was named MPSF Mikasa Newcomer of the Week for the second time in 2011, the conference announced Monday.

Dodson scored twice in No. 1 Stanford's 15-4 victory at No. 19 Pacific Sunday afternoon, helping the Cardinal stretch it's season-opening winning streak to nine games.

The two goals brought Dodson's season tally to 14, good for a tie for third on the team scoring list.

Monday's announcement marked the second time this week that Dodson has won the conference's weekly newcomer honor, as she was first recognized back on Jan. 25.

This weekend the Cardinal will travel to Irvine to take part in the UCI Invitational Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26 and 27. Stanford opens up tournament play at 9 a.m. Saturday against CS Bakersfield.
