STANFORD, Calif. - Freshman driver Anna Yelizarova of the top-ranked Stanford women's water polo team was named KAP 7 MPSF Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced Monday evening.

Yelizarova, a LaSalle, Quebec, Canada native and member of the Canadian Senior National Team, scored 10 goals with a pair of hat tricks over Stanford's 3-0 run to its fourth straight Stanford Invitational title over the weekend. She scored three times in Stanford's 8-5 title-game win over No. 3 UCLA Sunday and netted five goals in Saturday's 15-4 win over No. 8 San Jose State.

She added two more goals in Sunday morning's 11-2 win over No. 12 UC Davis.

On the year Yelizarova shares the team lead with 22 goals as Stanford has opened the campaign on an eight-game winning streak. The Cardinal travels to Davis this Friday to take on the Aggies at 12 p.m.
