Los Angeles, Calif. - Margie Dingeldein (Merced, CA), Ellen Estes (Novato, CA), Julie Gardner (Atherton , CA) and Wendy Watkins (Modesto, CA) each scored two goals in Stanford's 10-4 win over Long Beach State in the semifinal game of the Women's Water Polo Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. With the win, the Cardinal will advance to face UCLA in the championship game tomorrow at the McDonald's Swim Stadium.

As they have done all season, Stanford jumped out to a 4-1 first quarter lead and added one more goal in the second to hold a 5-2 advantage at the break. Long Beach State then scored two goals in the third, but the Cardinal put up four more scores in the fourth quarter en route to a 10-4 victory.

Stanford got two goals from Dingeldein, Estes, Gardner and Watkins and one each from Hannah Luber (Beaverton, OR) and Kelty Luber (Beaverton, OR). Jackie Frank (Long Beach, CA) registered a game-high eight save in goal for the Cardinal.

The Cardinal improve to 21-1 on the year and will meet the Bruins on Sunday (April 28) at 4:15 p.m., with the winner getting an automatic berth into the four-team NCAA Championship on May 11-12, also held at USC.
