Women's Water Polo Shuts Out San Jose State

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The second-ranked Stanford Cardinal women's water polo team shut out host San Jose State, 11-0, Saturday morning in a Moutain Pacific Sports Federation match at the Aquatics Center.

The Cardinal (12-3, 4-1) had 10 different goal scorers with freshman Kristen Koblik leading all scorers with two goals, all scored in the first quarter.

San Jose State (9-9, 1-5) kept the match close in the first half, allowing only Koblik's goal in the first quarter and three in the second quarter. But Stanford used its depth and scored six times in the second half.

The Spartans will play at Cal State Hayward on Wednesday before returning home for the final two home matches of the season on Friday, March 27. SJSU will host San Diego State at 11 a.m., and Long Beach State at 4 p.m.
