Women's Water Polo Falls to No. 1 UCLA 11-3

LOS ANGELES, CA - In a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation showdown, the second-ranked Stanford women's water polo team fell 11-3 to top-ranked and two-time defending national champion UCLA in the sport's third No. 1 vs. No. 2 battle of the season. With the loss, the Cardinal fell to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the MPSF while the Bruins improved to 14-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. UCLA and Cal split the previous two meetings between No. 1 and No. 2. The three goals marked the Cardinal's lowest output of the season.

Sophomore two-meter Ellen Estes (Novato, CA/Novato HS) led the squad in scoring for the 12th time this season with two goals, her 41st and 42nd of the season. Freshman two-meter defender Anne-Marie Keenan (Woodside, CA/Menlo School) tallied the Cardinal's other goal.

Stanford returns to action tomorrow against No. 4 UC Santa Barbara at 11:00 a.m.
