SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Stanford women's water polo team is currently 2-0 heading into the final day of the UCSD Triton Invitational. The Cardinal, which finished fourth at nationals last season, compiling a 33-10 record, topped USC 9-1 and UC Davis 7-2 for its first two wins of the 1998 campaign.

Sophomore Ellen Estes (Novato, CA/Novato HS) currently leads all Cardinal goal scorers with 5, three against USC and two against UC Davis. Freshman Dani Bell (Long Beach, CA/Wilson HS) has made her presence felt already with three goals in the two matches.

Stanford opened the tourney with an 8-5 win over the Cal JV team, a match that will not count.
