Bryn Kehoe Named Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Oct. 15, 2007

Senior Bryn Kehoe (North Bend, Ohio/St. Ursula) of the Stanford women's volleyball team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 8-14.

Kehoe had one of the most memorable weekends of her career, breaking Stanford’s all-time career assist record in the team’s match against No. 8 Washington. Playing two games against Washington State on Thursday, Kehoe led Stanford to its 13th sweep of the year with 26 assists. Against Washington, she needed 43 assists to break the all-time record, and out-did herself with a season-high 62 and tacked on a season-high six blocks. The senior setter also recorded her tenth double-double of the year with 11 digs. With 5,023 assists for her career, Kehoe tops the former program record (5,003) set by Wendy Rush in 1987.

This is Kehoe’s first Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2007-08 season. Kehoe and the rest of the Stanford women's volleyball team return to action Thursday, Oct. 18 at Arizona.

Also nominated: Anthony Kimble (Football), Kelley O'Hara (Women's Soccer), Teresa McWalters (Cross Country), Andrew Drake (Men's Water Polo)
