Get an inside look at the Stanford women's volleyball team each week. In this edition, junior Mary Ellen Luck talks about Homecoming weekend on The Farm.

Hi Cardinal Fans!

It has been an exciting weekend here on campus. We had two big wins against the Oregon schools, football had a huge win against Arizona, and it was Homecoming weekend as well!

At our match against Oregon on Friday, the 1992 championship team was honored, and we had a reception with them and some of the other volleyball alumni after the match. It was so great to reconnect with are alumni who we have met before, and also to meet some new (to us) alumni. We always love getting to spend time with the alumni and share stories with them - we are all part of one big Stanford volleyball family and its so cool to hear how things have changed and how they haven't.

On Saturday, we had team breakfast in the morning and then we watched film of our Oregon match for an hour or so. After that, we had the rest of the day off to go support our football team! A bunch of us stopped by the water polo game first, and then we headed over to some of the tailgates before the game began.

I hope that all of you were able to watch the football game this weekend - it was so exciting! (Apparently we gave dual Stanford volleyball/football fans a heart attack of a weekend with our five-set come-from-behind win against Oregon and football's overtime win!) It was a gorgeous day for a football game and we loved getting the chance to support our friends on the football team in person. The game was especially fun because Lydia came and had so much fun that she was converted into a football fan! She promised she would come to all of the rest of the games with me.

After the game, the team relaxed for the rest of the night. I went to dinner with my little sister (who is now a freshman at Stanford... continuing the Luck tradition!) and then did some baking.

On Sunday, we had another good match against Oregon State! Afterwards, Hannah and I went to Urban Outfitters in search of some new clothes, but came up mostly empty handed. I'm now sitting in my room writing this blog post as I procrastinate doing some reading for school this week.

The team is looking forward to our upcoming games against USC and UCLA this week and hope to see all of you there!
