Stanford, Calif. - In the March issue of Volleyball magazine Stanfordoutside hitter Ogonna Nnaamni (Jr., Normal, Illinois) has been named a 2003 Asics/Volleyball First Team All-American. She was one of 12 players named to the first team selected by the magazine. Outside hitter Kristin Richards (Fr., Orem, Utah) was tabbed Freshman of the Year by the magazine.

Nnamani broke the school record for most kills in a single season in 2003 with 627, surpassing two-time AVCA Player of the Year Logan Tom (1999-2002). She led the Cardinal to a 25-7 overall record, 14-4 in the Pac-10. She was a 2003 first-team AVCA All-American, third-team CoSIDA Academic All-American and a first-team All-Pac-10 selection as well.

Richards was named the 2004 Pacific Region Freshman of the Year, first-team All-Pac-10 selection and the Pacific-10 Freshman of the Year. Richards led the team in digs per game with 3.03 and was second on the squad with 3.38 kills per game.
