Stanford Volleyball Team Breezes Past UConn
STORRS, Conn. - Stanford blew past the University of Connecticut 15-4,
15-0, 15-10 at the 1997 Connecticut Women's Volleyball Tournament, in a match
that lasted only one hour and fifteen minutes.
Kristin Folkl provided the offensive punch with 15 kills, 6 digs and a sky-high
hitting percentage of .700. Kerri Walsh and Barbara Ifejika also provided some
power with 5 and 8 kills respectively.
For UConn, Jenelle Koester was the lone gun, dishing out 12 kills, with a
hitting percentage of .318.
The victory brought Stanford's record to 5-1, ands left UConn with a record of
3-3.
