Stanford Sweeps North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina volleyball team lost in three games Friday to defending National Champions Stanford University at Carmichael Auditorium.

The Cardinal defeated the Tar Heels 15-7, 15-0 and 15-4. The loss drops Carolina to 4-4 for the season while Stanford improves to 7-2.

Senior Lori Carlson led the Tar Heels with eight kills while sophomore Tori Seibert added seven. Junior setter Erin Berg had 23 assists.

Three All-Americas led Stanford to the victory. Senior Kristen Folkl had 15 kills while sophomore Kerri Walsh added 11. Senior setter Lisa Sharpley contributed 40 assists for the Cardinal.
