Stanford Routs Duke in Three Games

DURHAM, N.C. - Kristin Folkl had a game-high 21 kills to lead the Stanford women's volleyball team to a sweep of the host Duke Blue Devils. Game scores were 15-9, 15-2 and 15-5.

The Cardinal hit a sizzling .455 for the match, led by an incredible .559 hitting percentage for Folkl. Also posting double figures in the kills department was Barbara Ifejika, who notched 11 on the evening. Lisa Sharpley led the defensive effort with 10 digs while also collecting 28 assists from her setter position.

Sarah Peifer recorded a team-high 12 kills to spark the offensive attack for the Blue Devils, who were outblocked by Stanford 16-7 on the night.

Stanford improves to 6-2 with the victory, while Duke drops to 3-5. The Cardinal continue their swing through the Tar Heel state on Friday when they take on North Carolina.
