Stanford Cruises Past Nevada
RENO, Nev.-- Senior outside hitter Kristin Folkl posted game-highs with nine kills and
seven digs as the Stanford women's volleyball team cruised to a three-game sweep
of Nevada. Game scores were 15-2, 15-3 and 15-1.
The host Wolfpack proved no match for a Cardinal club coming off a loss to Penn State,
a match that cost Stanford its number one ranking. Stanford hit an incredible .452 over the
three games, while Nevada struggled to a -1.65 hitting percentage. In addition to Folkl,
Paula McNamee and Kerri Walsh enjoyed solid matches for Stanford, notching seven and six kills
respectively.
Stanford improves to 2-1 on the season, while Nevada falls to 0-4. The Cardinal returns to action
on Tuesday night at Sacramento State.
