Stanford Blanks Arizona State

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team blanked conference foe Arizona State 15-11, 15-12, 15-10 to run its record to 16-2 overall and 7-0 in the Pac-10. Arizona State with the loss fell to 11-7 overall and 2-5 in the Pac-10. The win extended Stanford's winning streak to 11 games while the Cardinal senior class improved to 55-1 in Maples Pavilion.

For the second concesutive night, senior outside hitter Kristin Folkl led all players in kills, recording 17. She also added seven digs and hit .395 (17-2-38) on the night. Freshman middle blocker Jennifer Detmer came up big off the bench for the Cardinal, posting seven kills and seven blocks in the final two games while hitting .667 (7-1-9). Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Clark added nine kills and six digs. Arizona State was led by senior middle blocker Kristin Mattson who notched a double-double in the losing effort, recording 12 kills and 10 digs.
