Sacramento State vs. Minnesota
NCAA Round 1
Sacramento State Quotes

Head Coach Debby Colberg

Opening Statement:
"It was just about confidence for us tonight and being able to play a strong enough game. We came out that second game and we got some strong serving from Chelsea Goodsell and that was really the difference tonight. I thought we played very consistently tonight and we were able to play very good defense and make our blocks. We were able to make our plays and sort of frustrating and we kind of got them out of their comfort zone. We were able to limit our unforced errors, which really helped us in the game tonight."

On tomorrow's opponent:
"I hope Stanford takes this as a compliment, but we are pulling for Santa Clara. I will be up all night watching this game and preparing for tomorrow."

On the seniors:
"You just can't replace experience out there, you know what they are going to bring out there on the court. We all struggled at points out there, but it is nice to have seniors out there to keep your head above water in tough situations. I thought we would have fallen apart without our seniors, they have a lot of desire, we might have fallen apart out there without them."

Senior Missie Stidham
"I thought we came in here with a lot of confidence. It was exciting to see a team (Minnesota) that we didn't know much about because coming in here we have always played Stanford. I thought we played a good game and as it progressed I felt we got a lot more comfortable out there. I felt a little frustrated out there in the beginning, but I came together as the game went on as I didn't want it to affect the team.

Senior Lindsay Haupt
"I think it means a lot tonight, since it might have been my last game. I didn't want to have an attitude with the team since it must have been my last game. I thought I brought the team together and tried to keep everyone composed. Overall I am very proud of this team and the game we put together tonight, we are excited to play again tomorrow."
