Tennis Wins Title

LOUISVILLE, Kty.--Stanford swept the men's and women's titles at the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Team Championships today, eight months after the two teams swept the NCAA titles last May. The only other time two teams from the same school swept the indoor titles was in 1990.

The top-ranked Stanford men's team (10-0) won its 22nd straight match, dating back to last season. The Cardinal defeated Illinois in today's championship, 5-0, in Louisville, Kentucky. The Cardinal won the doubles point and singles wins by Mike Bryan, Bob Bryan, Ryan Wolters and Geoff Abrams wrapped up the title for Stanford. This is the 10th indoor title for the men.
