The following information and links have been provided to help prospective student-athletes get to know Stanford University and our synchronized swimming program. Here are the steps you need to take:
1. Familiarize yourself with the NCAA rules and register for the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Please use the links below to find out more about the NCAA's recruiting guidelines, as this is only a summary. In order to maintain your collegiate eligibility, you must abide by the rules..
Freshmen & Sophomores- We can not: initiate correspondence via mail, fax or phone, have face to face contact, or receive or return phone calls of any kind. We may send you one general letter and questionnaire during this time.
Juniors - We can begin to correspond in writing and email beginning September 1 of your junior year. You and members of your family may make an unofficial visit to campus at any time and meet with the coaching staff. We may not have contact with you or your family members off campus. We may not initiate a phone call but if you call and reach us we may speak with each other. The one exception to this is that we may call you once in March and visit you on your campus once in April.
Seniors - In addition to the ongoing correspondence we were able to have your junior year we can now make face to face contact (with some NCAA limitations). You are able to take official visits (when the school may pay for your trip to campus). We can also come visit you in your home.

4. Sign up for and take the SAT
An important element of the Stanford application process is the SAT / ACT. We recommend that you take the SAT multiple times your junior year. We also suggest taking preparatory courses or studying on your own before taking the exam. Please do not wait until June to take the SAT / ACT. The last time to take your standardized test for most seniors is October. When you receive your test scores, please make sure you send us the breakdown of your scores.
