TUCSON, Ariz. - The Stanford synchronized swimming team captured the West Regional Title, Sunday, in Tucson, Ariz. The Cardinal earned 102 points to defeat Arizona, which scored 41.5.

Stanford claimed the top three spots in the trio competition as the Cardinal finished in the top three places. The team of Taylor Durand, Olivia Morgan and Maria Koroleva placed first. Finishing second was Madison Crocker, Morgan Fuller and Michelle Moore. The honorary trio, finishing third, was Megan Hansley, Corinne Smith and Koko Urata.

Koroleva and Morgan, both sophomores, placed first in duet, while seniors Debbie Chen and Durand came in second. Freshman Jessica Guenther placed first in solo for the fifth straight time in her debut season. Senior Gayle Lee finished second.

Stanford also won the team competition on day finishing ahead of the Wildcats. Morgan won the elements competition for the Cardinal.

Up next, Stanford will host the U. S. Collegiate Nationals from March 11-13 at the Avery Aquatic Center.
