Stanford, Calif. - Stanford will host its annual women's swimming Alumni Meet at the Avery Aquatic Center this Saturday, October 13 (9 am, PT). The meet will run in conjunction with an Alumni Meet for the Stanford men's swimming team. Admission to the event is free.

Alumni of the Stanford women's swimming and diving team have been responsible for more NCAA team championships (8) than any other collegiate women's swimming program in the nation and also added an AIAW national title in 1980, the season before the NCAA began sponsoring a national championship. Former Stanford swimmers have also captured 16 Pac-10 team titles in 21 years of the conference championship meet. A total of 39 former Stanford coaches and swimmers, as well as current junior Caroline Bruce, have participated in the Olympic Games and combined to win 50 medals (30 goals, 16 silver, four bronze).

Stanford will return to action by hosting Washington in a Pac-10 dual meet at the Avery Aquatic Center on Saturday, November 3 (8 am, PT). The divers will host divers from California the following Wednesday, November 7 (2 pm, PT), before both teams travel for a big non-conference at perennial national power Georgia on Friday, November 9 (2 pm, ET).
