Stanford Cassidy Krug, Kristian Ipsen and Dwight Dumais have all moved onto the finals of the AT&T National Diving Championships following top-three scores in the prelims of the three-meter synchronized diving event on Tuesday.
Ipsen, and his partner, Troy Dumais, Dwight's older brother, combined for the top score on the men's side with a tally of 405.78. The duo scored 91.80 points on a forward 2 1/2 somersault and 2 twist pike which scored nine 9.0's or better from the 11 judges. Dwight and his brother, Justin, scored a mark of 364.98, good enough for third place. The Dumais brothers best dive was a inward dive park, scoring 98.40 points with scores of 8.5 or better from all 11 judges.
Krug and her partner, Kassidy Cook, tallied a mark of 281.04, which was second on the women's side. The duo scored a mark of 72.0 on a forward 2 1/2 somersault and one twist pike, scoring 8.0 or better from seven judges.
Ipsen will be an incoming freshman this fall, Dumais and Krug were both All-Americans who exhausted their eligibility. Stanford has six divers at the national championships this week running through August 14.
