Smith Fifth in Finals of 200 IM on Final Day

Cardinal Swimmer Finishes Off U.S. Open Championship

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.—Liz Smith finished in fifth place in the Finals of the U.S. Open 200 individual medley to highlight Stanford on the final day of the championships.

Smith posted the third-best preliminary time of 2:15.57, before bettering her Final time by two seconds with a time of 2:1.66 for fifth place. Jamie Bruce was also in the 200 IM, posting a time of 2:20.57.

Angela Duckworth finished 19th overall in the 1500 freestyle in other event for Cardinal swimmers, finishing with a time of 1:59.36.
