SANTA CLARA, Calif.-- Alex Coville won a silver medal in the 50 free, Maya DiRado was a runner-up in the 400 IM and Matthew Swanston was a bronze medalist in the 200 back to highlight Stanford swimmers on the second full day of the Santa Clara Invite.

Coville finished off the individual portion of the day by finishing second to William Copeland (22.69) in the splash and dash of the 50 free. Coville, a recent graduate, was second with a time of 22.81, while  alum, David Dunford was fifth (23.04).

Swanston, in what will be a battle for Canada's representatives in the 200 back in the future, was third with a time of 2:00.54, moving up from sixth after the midway point, finishing behind American winner Michael Phelps (1:57.05) and Australian Mitchell Larkin (2:00.30). DiRado was the first of three Cardinal swimmers in the A Finals, as Taylor was fourth (4:42.71), a half second out of third and Julia Smit was ninth (4:46.29). DiRado was also 11th overall and second in the B Finals of the 200 back (2:13.80), in what continues to be a strong invite for the NCAA runner-up in the 200 IM.
