LONDON-- Stanford alumnae Cassidy Krug finished in eighth place in the finals of the 3-meter of the World Cup in London, one of two Americans in the finals of the international competition. Krug with 326.10 points, was just behind Christina Loukas' 327.65 points. The two Americans finished seventh and eighth.

Krug finished off the competition with 66 points on a front 2 ½ somersault with a twist, battling for a medal early in the competition.

Krug's fifth dive was a reverse 2 ½ somersault for 60 points, which dropped her to eighth place after the former NCAA Diver of the Year began the six-round final in the top-five.

Krug started off the finals with a 73.50 on an inward 2 ½ somersault and followed that up with 65.10 points on a front 3 ½ pike. In a tightly contested field early, Krug was just 6.3 points from third place after two dives.

Following a back 2 ½ pike for 61.50 points, Krug dropped to sixth halfway through the competition.

Krug closed out the semifinals with 323.10 points after 63 points on a 2 ½ somersault with a twist. She was third after four rounds and was as high as second after three dives thanks to 67.50 points on a back 2 ½ pike halfway through the competition.

Earlier in the World Cup, Stanford freshman Kristian Ipsen finished sixth in the 3-meter synchro and 24th in the individual 3-meter. He returns to campus on Monday, where he will prepare for Zone and NCAA competition. He has yet to lose a collegiate meet, going 12-0 in 1- and 3-meter events this year.

For Team USA, the Olympic team will be decided in June at the Trials in Seattle from June 18 to 24 in Federal Way, Wash., site of this week's Pac-12 Championships.
