National Competition: A two-time U.S. Olympic Trials participant, competing in the 2000 Trials at the age of just 13 years old • Participated in the 100 meter breast (32nd, 1:13.22) at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials and also qualified for the event in the 200 meter breast and 200 meter IM but did not compete in either due to injury • Was 18th in the 100 meter breast (1:12.00) at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials • Was seventh in the 100 meter breast at the 2004 Spring Senior Nationals, as well as 12th in the 200 meter IM and 17th in the 200 meter breast • Reached the bonus finals of the 2003 Summer Senior Nationals (18th, 1:12.19) and the consolation finals of the 2003 Spring Senior Nationals (11th, 1:11.64, 1:11.33 prelims) in the 100 meter breast • Reached the bonus finals of the 2003 Spring Senior Nationals in the 200 meter breast (22nd, 2:37.07) and also anchored a second-place DeAnza Cupertino Aquatics 400 meter free relay squad (57.49/3:49.64) • Was ninth in the 100 (1:11.25, 1:11.17 prelims) and 14th in the 200 (2:34.58) meter breast at the 2002 Summer Senior Nationals, as well as the 11th in the 200 meter IM (2:19.65) • Had a great showing at the 2002 Spring Senior Nationals, taking second in the 100 meter breast, third in the 200 meter breast and fifth in the 200 meter IM • Finaled in the 100 meter breast (8th, 1:11.23, 1:10.38 prelims) as a 14-year-old at the 2001 Summer Senior Nationals and was 11th in the 200 meter breast (2:34.39) • Broke both the short-course yards and long-course meters 100 breast records for Pacific Swimming in both the 13-14 and 15-16 age groups, as well as the Senior record in the event, which was later broken.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School • A 16-time All-American • 2004 San Jose Mercury News Swimmer of the Year • Named her school's 2003-04 Athlete of the Year • Selected a USA Swimming All-American and team MVP in each of her four prep seasons • Broke eight school SCY records (50 free, 200 free, 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 IM, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay), seven of which still hold • Also broke a pair of Central Coast Section records in the 100 yard breast and 400 yard free relay in her senior season • Prep team won three CCS team championships in her final three campaigns • Succeeded academically with a 3.75 GPA or better in each of her eight semesters • Was also a National Honor Society member • Coached by Tom Miller.
