STANFORD, Calif. -The No. 7 Stanford squash team will begin its 2012-13 season this weekend with a trip to Ithica, N.Y. to take on three teams it knows well. The Cardinal defeated its Saturday opponents, Williams College and Hamilton, last season and split a pair of matches with Sunday foe Cornell who defeated Stanford in the consolation round of the Howe Cup.

"Cornell has been our rival the past few years," said head coach Mark Talbott. "I'm sure it will be close and come down to the last couple of matches."

Stanford returns its top two players from last season in All-American Pamela Chua and Kerrie Sample. Madeleine Gill, Serena Fagan, Julie Koenig, Alexandra Huchro, Ariel Posner and Julia Hemmendinger also return after seeing significant playing time last season.
