PRINCETON, N.J. - After suffering a 7-2 loss to third ranked Trinity College in the first round of the Howe Cup on Friday, Stanford bounced back to down Cornell, 6-3 in the consolation bracket on Saturday.

Pamela Chua defeated Jamie Laird, 11-4, 11-9 and 11-6 at the No. 1 position, while Kayla Sherwood earned a hard fought, four-game victory victory over Laurie Sachvie at the No. 4 position, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5.

Samantha Buechner continued her steady play with a straight game victory over Alexandra Glassman at the No. 5 position.

Julie Koenig, Kathryn Corelli and Serena Fagan also picked up wins for Stanford.
