PRINCETON, N.J. - Stanford dropped a 7-2 decision to third-ranked Trinity College on Friday in the first round of the Howe Cup being played at Princeton, N.J.

Cecilia Haig and Samantha Buechner accounted for Stanford's two victories against the Bantams. Haig downed Jennifer Pelletier, 11-5, 11-9 and 11-7 at the No.3 position, while Buechner disposed of Emery Holton, 12-10, 11-7, 6-11 and 11-8.

With the loss, Stanford drops into the consolation bracket, where it will face Cornell on Saturday.
