PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - No. 6 Stanford squash took one of three matches on the last East Coast swing before the Howe Cup at the end of the month. The Cardinal defeated No. 10 Brown (9-0) and fell to No. 4 Penn (3-6) and No. 5 Princeton (0-9).

Freshman Madeleine Gill defeated her twin sister, Leslie (Penn) in the last match of the weekend, 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 13-11, 11-9. In a repeat of a matchup that has undoubtedly played itself out hundreds of times over the years, the Gill sisters extended the match to a fifth game with Madeleine rallying after falling behind 2-1.

Gill, Aditi Maliwal and Julie Koenig took two of three matches, posting wins against Brown and Penn. Pamela Chua lost a tough five game match to Penn's Rachael Goh and Julie Koenig needed five games to defeat Penn's Colleen Fehm.

The Cardinal return home to prepare for the Howe Cup February 24-26 in Princeton, N.J.
