NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The sixth-ranked Cardinal split two matches to start its second East Coast road swing of the season, losing 9-0 to No. 2 Yale and defeating No. 9 Bates College, 8-1.

After being swept by the Bulldogs, Stanford rebounded against Bates, the only loss coming at the hands of Nessrine Ariffin who defeated Kerrie Sample three sets to two. Sample was again forced into the No. 1 spot with Pamela Chua nursing an injury.

Kyla Sherwood, Kathryn Corelli, Aditi Maliwal, Serena Fagan, Julie Koenig, Madeline Gill, Alexandra Huchro and Ariel Posner were victorious against the Bobcats.

The Cardinal continues its road trip today against Trinity (Conn.) and George Washington before closing out the weekend with Connecticut College.
