STANFORD, Calif. -
Stanford improved to 3-2 on the season with an 8-1 home victory over the 12th-ranked Bates College Bobcats Thursday night at the Ford Center.
All eight of Stanford's victories were sweeps. Pamela Chua downed Cheri Ann Paris at the top of the lineup. Kerrie Sample and Cecilia Haig also recorded straight game victories at the No. 2 and 3 positions in the lineup.
Also recording victories were Cecilia Haig, Kyla Sherwood, Aditi Maliwal, Samantha Buechner, Julie Koenig and Shannon Harrington. Leah Stork was downed by Rakey Drammeh, 3-2.
Stanford will return to action on Friday afternoon to host 18th-ranked George Washington. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m. in the Ford Center.
