STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford outfielder Cassandra Roulund talks about one of the team's favorite places, the locker room, in the latest edition of her blog. The sophomore will be blogging all season long to give Cardinal fans a behind-the-scenes look at the team.
Locker Room Frenzy!
Our home away from home! Seriously, though. If I were to pick the top three places of where I spend the most time on campus it would be the softball field, my bed, and the locker room.
We all love the locker room. It is so uniquely quirky and just very much our style. Or maybe we just bring the unique quirkiness to it? I am not quite sure. But what I am sure of is that I have many fond memories of our lovely locker room over the past year and a half, and I know the rest of the team feels the same way.
First thing's first: A breakdown of our locker room.
So there's the changing (usually a little bit messier) half which consists of all our lockers, clothes, stools, refrigerator, showers, and laundry bin. Then there's the other (more clean because we're not allowed to wear shoes on the rug) half that houses the couches, tv, sinks, pillows, and newly installed DVR! Typically, my favorite half would hands-down be the side with the TV, pillows, and amazing couch, BUT there is one really great thing the other side has going for it - it houses our dance parties!
Before games, practices, or sometimes just for fun Stanford softball can be found dancing, jiving, jumping, and flailing to anything from Beyonce to ABBA. Ty, Nyree, Plaza, and Hanna are often seen busting out their newly learned and perfected choreographed moves while I, myself, tend to wing-it and improvise my dances.
But don't get me wrong, the other half is just as great. It has housed many naps throughout the years. Erin, Nyree, Lauren, and anyone else who may have had a long night of studying can be found taking a cat nap at just about any hour of the day.
Another great thing about our locker room is that no matter where you are, there is never a lack of inspiration. An entire wall is filled with motivational quotes that help us remember what we are all working so hard towards. (Okay, so maybe there are a couple of funny stories and memories on there as well). Also, on our white board, we each have a designated section to write down what our short-term goals are. It's a great reminder and also holds each one of us accountable for working to improve every single day - whether it be something big or just a small adjustment.
Of course, the other half of the white board is usually full of reminders (which we still sometimes accidently ignore). There is ALWAYS something written about not forgetting some piece of clothing while traveling and yet, somebody always manages to forget it. It's pretty comical, until we realize that we might have to wear dirty socks or uniforms.

Standout Teammate of the Week: Kayla Bonstrom (BonBon/KB). Congratulations to KB for her first collegiate home run! But, wait! There's more! It was a grand slam! WHOOP YEAH!
Good morning, afternoon, evening, and night!

P.S. I will be taking a break from my blog next week to study for and take my finals, but I will be back after our series at Oregon (March 23-25). Go CARD!
