STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford outfielder Cassandra Roulund talks about the team's obsession with photos and videos. The sophomore will be blogging all season long to give Cardinal fans a behind-the-scenes look at the team.

Hello, hello, hello!

Photos galore! Recently, the new and exciting fad that Stanford softball is following is photographing and recording a good majority of our day. GAME DAY! (That's what we call it). When someone says "game day" we know that the camera is rolling somewhere and we're all ready for action. To be completely honest, nobody on our team is what I would consider `camera shy'. Sure, sure, we may all have our moments, but for the most part, the camera cannot get enough of us... or we can't get enough of the camera? Regardless, there are countless hours of video that we are working on compiling into a much more interesting (and shorter) version to share with you all. Until then, I decided to share a few photos and the reasons for said photos of our weekend in Fullerton. (Click on the photogallery link above to view).

Explanations are as follows:

Sleep is for the weak! At least that was the saying that we all abided (or maybe failed to abide by) this weekend. Between six-hour bus rides and early games, there was hardly ever a time that somebody wasn't catching a few Z's or taking a little catnap. There is never a safe place to fall asleep while traveling. The cameras are everywhere!

Other photos include all of our crazy shenanigans that took place in the hotel. One of the most exciting parts of the week before we travel is getting our itinerary. Why? You may ask. Well for one, we always check what equipment we're in charge of (sorry freshmen, the catch nets are SUCH a pain!) but more importantly we flip right to our rooming assignment page. Soon after the itineraries are handed out, everybody is jumping and screaming and yelling out who their roommates are and how great the weekend is going to be because of it. It's pretty entertaining to see, especially considering that we see each other almost everyday - we practically all live together already. As you can see in some of our pictures, we have a great time and usually end up gathered in one room sharing stories and impersonating YouTube sensations. (This week, Jenna Rich and I put on a talk show with a live studio audience and everything).

As always, we love travelling in California because it makes it easier on a lot of our parents to come to our games. Thank you to everyone that had the chance to come out and support Stanford softball last weekend. We really appreciate it! (Special shout-out to my high school Psych teacher and her daughters who came to support and also showered me and my teammates with her famous cookies!)

Inspirational Quote of the Week: "You have to have the mentality of executing your game when you don't feel like there's a lot of hope. I think the best feeling is when somebody pushes you to the limit and you dig down a little bit extra. By the same token, you also need a little luck. Sometimes they come together." -Andre Agassi

Standout Teammate of the Week: Tylyn Wells. T-Y. T-Y, TY! Ty was ON FIRE this weekend! Slapping the ball left and right and up the middle. She was absolutely unstoppable. GO TY! SO PROUD OF MY SUITEMATE! You go Ty B Wells.

Just keep swimming,
BOO!
