Leticia Olivarez Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach Experience: Second Season Alma Mater: Wisconsin '10

Letty Olivarez remains on the Stanford softball staff for the 2013 season as a volunteer assistant coach. She will provide assistance in all areas for the Cardinal coaching staff during her second season on The Farm.

Before coming to Stanford, Olivarez was a student assistant coach at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for the 2011 season. While playing for the Badgers, Olivarez was a third team All-Big Ten pick in 2010.

As a senior in 2010, Olivares led UW in nearly all pitching statistics. She twice tied the school record with 17 strikeouts in a career-best 9.1 innings. Offensively, she became just the eighth player in school history to hit two home runs in a single game, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and a double against Michigan State.

During the 2009 campaign, Olivarez led the Badgers in home runs and RBI. She also led the team in wins, innings pitched, appearances, strikeouts and saves. As a sophomore in 2008, she recorded the third-highest batting average on the team and hit lead off home runs in both games versus Illinois, becoming the first player in program history to accomplish that feat.

In her rookie season in 2007, Olivarez posted the fourth-best totals every by a UW freshman in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and ERA.

Olivarez graduated from Newark Memorial High School in the East Bay. She was the school's athlete of the year as a senior. A three-time team MVP, she earned All-East Bay honors four times. She also nabbed all-state honors as a senior. She won the school's White Sweater Award for earning nine varsity letters while competing in volleyball, basketball, softball and tennis.

Olivarez lives in Newark, Calif., along with her boyfriend, former third baseman for the Seattle Mariners, Jim Davenport.
