Mick Myrback returns for his fourth season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Stanford softball team.

Since coming to Stanford in 2005, he has helped the program to three straight winning seasons, three NCAA Championship appearances and its first-ever Pac-10 title.

"Coach Myrback provides a very critical role on our coaching staff," said Head Coach John Rittman. "He is very dedicated, does whatever is asked of him and truly helps our players be the best they can be. We're very lucky to have a volunteer coach like Mick."

Prior to joining the Cardinal program, Myrback spent four years as the top assistant at Santa Clara University where he helped lead the squad to two conference championships, establishing school records for most wins (30) in program history two years in a row. While at Santa Clara, Myrback helped solidify the defense of the team while coaching both the infielders and outfielders.

Myrback was also an assistant coach at Presentation High School for three seasons, helping guide the team to a second place finish in the Central Coast Section Division II finals. Myrback has coached several ASA softball teams from U-12 through U-18, developing fundamental softball skills in young players.

Myrback graduated from UC Davis in 1975 with a degree in Biological Sciences and currently performs research for several pharmaceutical companies. His wife Nancy works at the Career Center at Santa Clara University. Myrback's daughter, Lindsay, a graduate from Santa Clara, now works at the Lucile Packard Foundation while his son, Scott, is a senior at CSU Chico.
