Allison is a sophomore defender who has been key to the Stanford back line this season. She has started all 13 games and led the team to eight shutouts so far in 2006. Additionally, she has helped Stanford hold its last 11 opponents to just 15 shots on goal and five goals. Against Long Island on Sept. 10, Allison registered her second career assist, heading a ball to teammate Lizzy George for the eventual game-winner.
Question of the Week: What is your pre-game ritual?
"I have to listen to the song `Fighter' by Christina Aguilera before every single game. This season, that seems to be my thing. It's a really good pump up song for me and I really like it. It helps me stay focused and stuff. Another thing, a kind of strange one, is that before most games I play Text Twist on the internet for like ten minutes before we start warming up."
The Week That Was: USC and UCLA
"Last weekend, I think it was a little frustrating for everybody. I thought we played very well but we just couldn't score. The scores of both games, both the 0-0 tie and the loss to UCLA, didn't really reflect how we played and how the games actually went. We out-shot USC and just couldn't get the ball in, so we just need to work on finishing and putting those games away. We were dominating in the UCLA game, especially in the second half, until there were about ten minutes left. We just needed to get a goal in before they did."
The Week That Is: Arizona State and Arizona
"Each Pac-10 game is tough and now that we're in Pac-10s you have to come out hard for every single game. We're just going to go out there and we're just going to try to score and keep playing how we've been playing, because we have been playing extremely well. We just have to get the ball in the back of the net. On defense, we've worked on set plays a lot and being ready for corner kicks and long throw-ins. We've also been practicing what to do if something goes wrong, so we're put in a bad situation and we practice getting out of it. Everything that we've been working on, the small minor details, is going to help us out this weekend."
