Press Named to Soccer Buzz Elite Team Of The Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Christen Press earned yet another team of the week honor, as she was selected to Soccer Buzz's Elite Team of the Week for the week of August 18-24. Press scored two goals just 37 seconds apart from one another and assisted on Kelley O'Hara's goal three minutes after scoring her second goal in the first half of a 5-0 victory over Pacific on Aug. 24. This is the first ever Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week honor for Press, and second team of the week honor this season, having previously been named to Top Drawer Soccer's list on Sunday night. Soccer Buzz's selections were posted today due to technical difficulties with the website, but are normally published earlier in the week. The site also came out with their national poll, in which Stanford checks in at No. 7. The Cardinal will take on Navy and No. 15 Boston College this weekend at home, facing the Midshipmen on Friday evening and the Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Live stats for both games will available on Gametracker, and each match will be webcasted and available to All-Access pass holders. Soccer fans can also head out to Laird Q. Cagan Stadium on Friday at 4 p.m. for a neutral site match between Oregon State and Boston College. On Sunday, the Stanford women will be holding a post-game autograph session.
