  • Joins First-Year Head Coach Amy Bokker
    First-year head coach Amy Bokker has announced the hiring of Brooke McKenzie as an assistant coach with the Stanford lacrosse program. McKenzie had served as an assistant coach for the previous two seasons at George Mason under Bokker, who was named the Cardinal's head coach in June. McKenzie joined the George Mason staff prior to 2007 after graduating from James Madison, where she was a four-year starter from 2002-2006 and team captain her final season.

    The Jaquish & Kenninger Director of Athletics Bob Bowlsby has announced the hiring of Amy Bokker as head coach of the Stanford lacrosse program. Bokker arrives on The Farm after serving as the head coach of George Mason for the past 11 seasons.

  • 15 Named MPSF All-Academic
    Stanford senior goalkeeper Laura Shane added to her long list of accolades Wednesday when she was named Goalkeeper of the Year by womenslacrosse.com. The senior led the country in save percentage (.559), saves (232), and was second nationally in saves per game (11.6).

  • 15 Cardinal Selected To MPSF All-Academic Lacrosse Team

    15 Cardinal student-athletes were named to the MPSF All-Academic Lacrosse team, as announced by Commissioner Al Beaird. To be eligible for selection, a student-athletes must have a 3.0 overall grade-point average and a significant contributor. An athlete is also not eligible its freshman season for the honor.

  • Five Named All-MPSF Performers
    No. 20 Stanford held off No. 17 Denver 9-8 to capture their fourth straight MPSF Tournament Championship. Senior Laura Shane stopped a free position shot by Denver attacker Karen Morton with nine seconds left to preserve the one goal lead. Freshman Sarah Flynn and sophomore Julie Christy each had three goals to lead the scoring for the Cardinal and senior All-American goalkeeper Laura Shane finished with a season-high 17 saves.

  • Karen Nesbitt Named MPSF Tri-Newcomer of the Year; Five Named All-MPSF Performers

    Freshman Midfielder Karen Nesbitt (Cincinnati, OH./Sycamore HS) was named as a Tri-Newcomer of the Year Friday, as announced by MPSF Commissioner Al Beaird. Nesbitt has made an immediate impact in her rookie campaign by scoring 16 goals and adding eight assists, while only starting seven games for the Cardinal. Nesbitt has also made an impact on the defensive end as a two-way contributor for the Cardinal.
