PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Stanford assistant coach Brooke McKenzie scored two goals in the opening minutes to help the Canadian national team break out to an early lead, but Australia rallied with four unanswered goals late in the game to end Canada's run in the semifinals of the Women's Lacrosse World Cup.

McKenzie's performance in the 12-10 loss, followed by a hat trick in the third-place game against England, gave her three consecutive multi-goal games. In the quarterfinals, McKenzie scored two goals and had four assists in a 10-6 victory over Wales.

McKenzie finished with four multi-goal games in the tournament, with 12 goals and five assists in seven games. She helped Canada to third place by scoring three times in a 14-9 victory over England.

In the semifinal against Australia, which would lose in the final to the United States, 8-7, Canada took a 4-0 lead, but the lead changed hands five times after that. Canada led 9-8 in the second half before Australia went on a final scoring flurry to earn itself a championship berth.
