Stanford, Calif. - Stanford women's lacrosse coach Amy Bokker announced the newest member of her staff today, adding volunteer assistant Amelia Harris. Amelia comes to The Farm from Johns Hopkins where she was a goalkeeper for the Blue Jays from 2005-09.

"We are very excited to have Amelia join our staff," said Bokker. "She has so much enthusiasm and is very passionate about teaching our game. The determination she had to come out to the west coast and be a part of Stanford Lacrosse was very impressive to our whole staff."

In addition to be a four-year letter winner, Harris served as a student coach at the Johns Hopkins lacrosse camps during her time at the Baltimore University. Harris joins the Stanford program that is quickly establishing itself as the elite program in the West and nationally competitive with the East Coast teams that have dominated the sport in the past. The Cardinal won a fifth consecutive MPSF title in 2009 and despite a 14-4 overall record, received a controversial snub from the NCAA selection committee.

Harris comes to Stanford after working as a program and marketing manager for Live Green since her graduation from Johns Hopkins last spring. Harris earned a B.S. in psychology with a minor in Art History.
