Hey SWG fans!

After a restful Thanksgiving break, we returned to the gym with renewed energy and a higher level of intensity. We finished up the week with our “hard intrasquad,” in which we tried to closely simulate a meet experience with competitive line-ups, hard landings, judges, and fans. A quick shout-out to Nikki for a fantastic floor routine in which she competed a piked full-in for the first time on the hard floor, and ended with a huge double pike. It was also great to see girls who are coming back from injuries not only compete with hard landings, but hit some amazing routines. Afterwards we had a team meeting in which we honestly addressed our weaknesses as a team and how we are going to implement changes in our practices so that we can, as we have been talking a lot about, turn our weaknesses into our strengths.

This weekend was also our “Junior Visit Weekend,” and we had four awesome girls out for unofficial visits. It was fun to get to know these girls and show them a little bit of Stanford life. We’re now gearing up for dead week (which, as a freshman I’m finding out isn’t really so “dead” considering we still have classes and even midterms!) and then finals week.

Thanks for checking in, and thanks to everyone who came to support us at our intrasquad!
