Hello everyone!
Last weekend we traveled to Norman, Oklahoma for a dual meet against the University of Oklahoma. On Friday morning, before the competition, we went to the International Gymnast Magazine headquarters, where we got a tour of the building and even had the opportunity to look through old IG magazines dating back to the 1950's. Lindsay, Kendall, Lise and Larissa found some articles about themselves. It was especially fun to see pictures of Larissa, when she was competing as a young gymnast!
Stephanie Gentry and Aimee Precourt, two high school seniors which will be joining the team next year as Freshman, came to the meet. It was really great to see both of them. We had a little bit of a shaky meet, but I think everyone on the team stayed very focused despite the bars collapsing during Natalie's bar routine. As a team we learned a lot from the competition and we have developed a whole new level of commitment for the remainder of our season.
This Friday will be Senior Night, the last home meet for our five amazing seniors. It should be an awesome show and I know that all the girls on the team are looking forward to making it a very special experience for Lindsay, Kendall, Caroline, Lise and Shelly. They are such an integral part of the team and have such passion for the sport that we all hope they have a wonderful time competing for the last time in Burnham Pavilion.
