What a great holiday season! Nearly three weeks ago, we kicked off our winter break with the second annual "Sips and Swings" wine tasting and auction, which was a huge success. It was fabulous to have so many of our friends and family at the event to support the team and enjoy each others company. Afterwards, all thirteen of us headed to Santa Cruz for a two night stay at Kelseys' (a Senior last year) amazing new beach house. In addition to enjoying the spectacular view and many hours of much needed sleep (after a week of finals), practically all of us learned how to knit (thanks to Kendall)!
Just a few days later, we had our first full intrasquad. Complete with judges and uniforms, we showcased our 2004 Stanford team. With a few misses here and there, we saw many opportunities for improvement, but overall, we were satisfied with our early season performance. After one more practice the next day, we all left "The Farm" for ten days at home.
Upon returning to lovely California, we all checked in to the "Creekside Inn," excited for a week to focus solely on gymnastics and each other before classes started up again. Outside of the gym, we had some productive shopping excursions, saw some good and not so good movies, and knitted a ridiculous number of scarves (Mandy Delgado!). For New Year's, we all went out to dinner and then hung out with the Men's gym team late into the night. Our break ended with our holiday party at Scott and Kristen's new house (which is absolutely incredible!), where we exchanged gifts and (really bad) poetry with our Secret Santa's. We've had a great time the last few weeks and are SO excited to start our 2004 campaign - Go Card!!!
