This week SWG traveled to Arizona State to participate in the Uno Classic. We did not have the performance we were looking for but showed moments of brilliance throughout the competition. Highlights came from Liz on bars, Allyse on beam, Elmo on floor, and Nikki on vault. While we are proud of these individual performances, we know that it is going to take a complete team effort to have a shot at the NCAA title. Heading into the home stretch, we continue to strive and push each other to reach our full potential and are encouraged by the steady progress we have made thus far.
The bus ride home really put things into perspective for us. Driving home from the airport, our bus caught on fire! It was a scary moment, but we were able to get everybody off the bus in one piece. Standing on the side of the road, I began to reflect on my experiences at Stanford and with my SWG family. The time has flown by since freshman year, and it is hard to believe that Friday night is the last time that the seniors will have a chance to perform in front of the home crowd. I am grateful for the time I have spent here and want to thank everyone for their support over the last four years. We appreciate all the encouragement and love you have shown us and hope to see you on Friday night, when the six of us say goodbye to the Stanford family we have come to love so dearly.
