Hey everyone!
Following our super hard week, this week's "light" practices were warmly received by the whole SWG team. Even though it was a light week, SWG was still hard at work perfecting skills and working together as a team. This week we have been working on putting routines together, getting our floor endurance up so we can do huge tumbling and performance on our dance, and especially working on our stuck landings. SWG has started tallying all the sticks we make every practice throughout the week. We've already beaten our sticks from last week and we are excited to keep that trend up.
Some of the highlights in the gym this week were Liz and Tabbs being able to do more bars. Liz has been cleared to do some Geingers on bars, which, like all her releases, are super huge! Tenaya West (T-Dub) started doing some awesome double backs for dismounts on beam. Steph Gentry did her 2 1/2 punch front layout on the floor. Its amazing how many adds and improvements people are making each week!
On another note, we all finished up classes and are looking forward to a much-deserved week off of school. Oh course, that doesn't mean that the professors didn't give us work to do J. But nonetheless, no class for a week is great! We are training until Tuesday afternoon and then we are free to go home and spend Thanksgiving with our families. I remember last year as a freshman, I couldn't wait to go home for Thanksgiving and see my family again. But this year, the anticipation of going home isn't nearly as high, probably because I feel like I already have a family here. (don't worry mom, I'm still stoked to come home J)
Hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys Turkey day with friends and family!
