After coming off of a great competition last weekend, the team came into our next practice excited and ready to work. We started off with our usual spinning warm up and we ready to get started with practice when Kristen had a little surprise for us. She told us that we were going to start with a little team challenge which just so happened to be at Golf Land. The whole team was shocked and jumped up and down, yelling with excitement. We all got into our cars and drove to Golf Land as fast as we could. The challenge was that the team with the lowest mini golf average got their fleeces for the year. A lot of people made some incredible holes in one (not including me) and Carly Janiga impressed her group with a little off-course putting. Liz's team ended up with the lowest score and Liz walked away with a much needed personal day for getting the lowest score on the team. We all had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed getting to hangout with each other outside the gym.
With a day of rest, the team was fired up to compete in our next meet. We were all excited when Carly gave a list of 20 people she was expecting to come to support us. We had some pretty great support from them and from some of our other much appreciated supporters. The competition line ups were a little confusing with Alex and I both being sick. We changed the lineups a couple times before the meet even began and then changed them again when I tweaked my knee on vault. Alex was great in stepping up when we needed her. She performed beautifully once again on floor, which ended up earning her a team fleece for the highest scoring event. With a couple wobbles on beam, SWG is getting ready to improve a little bit more for our next meet in Nebraska. I am very excited for this meet because we get to go up against LSU and Nebraska, who are both great teams. Thanks for reading and for supporting us!
